Just noticed my garage drywall has bubbles forming near the ceiling. They're soft when I press on them. The garage isn't climate controlled and we've had some humid weather lately. Is this from humidity or something worse? The drywall is only 4 years old.

could be humidity but also check for roof leaks. bubbles near the ceiling usually mean water coming from above. Had the same issue and turned out my roof flashing was bad
Good call, I'll check the attic this weekend. Hoping it's just humidity but you might be right
4 years old means it was probably installed during covid when materials were questionable. some of that drywall had moisture issues from the factory. either way youll need to cut out the bubbled sections and patch. no way to save bubbled drywall
Agree on cutting it out. Don't try to just paint over bubbles, they'll keep getting worse. Find the source first though or you'll be doing this again in a year
In AZ? Humidity shouldn't be that bad unless you're running a swamp cooler in the garage. Check for condensation on your garage door too. If you're parking wet cars in there regularly that moisture has to go somewhere
